SAD Paintball Team was established by Mark Blakemore in May 1993 just before the start of the 10-Man Midland League started. It struggled through its first years with few results, but the players in the team got on well and results were secondary to their enjoyment of the game.

In January 1996 Mark stepped down as Captain so he could put all his efforts into securing sponsorship for the team and Alan Robinson took on the role as Captain. The team has progressed well and has had some very good results both here and abroad since then. These good results have encouraged new players to join our team who have further strengthened the side. To change the way the sport is viewed we were one of the first teams to change our playing attire to Non-Camo for all competitions, it is a mix of black and blue.

We have always insisted that all our players are members of the United Kingdom Paintball Sports Federation ( There is a U.K.P.S.F. button on the INDEX COLUMN, it will tell you what they do and what they can do for you, so USE IT!! ), we have had people at every A.G.M. since it was formed. Two of our players are committee members as well.

SAD play their games in a hard but fair manner which has not gone unrecognized by our trophy cabinet, being littered with many Most Sporting Team trophies. Its also testament to the team that not one player has left to join another team in our 8 year history.

We started playing just in the Midlands area but now we travel all over the country and have traveled all over the world. SAD Paintball Team have a good reputation as referees and have been asked to jugde all over the country and twice to jugde the Camp Masters in Paris which is one of the largest competitions in Europe.

It is our hope that we can continue to compete in the UK & Europe at a higher level in the future and a trip to compete in the WORLD CUP in the USA is being planed.
